I know you'l all probably end up seeing this movie.. but its piss poor. I went to the opening showing as im a HUGE fan of the origionals but i just wish it hadnt been made and il tell you why.
Firstly, having George Lucas on board was a BIG mistake (Origionals were directed by Speilberg), he butchers the action as he seemingly forgets that this isnt a Star Wars movie. Gone are the cool set piece action sequences like the famous mine cart scene or the rolling boulder chase.. now its all green screen. It just looks lazy. You wont understand what im talking about untill you see (SPOILER) Indys son befriending a pack of monkeys as they teach him how to swing through the jungle on vines.. im not joking!
Secondly, the story.. yeh well they decided to leave that part out. Its a mess, ive seen it and what I can gather its something to do with Soviets.. after a skull.. an ancient tribe.. aliens.. and another dimension.
Thirdly casting.. well they got Shia Le Beauf of transformers fame to play Indys son, that was a good move right? wrong. Hes naturaly hilarious and a great actor.. but they cast him as this kina awkward hard guy, and theres just no laughs to be had from it. They couldive used him so much more.. such a waste. Another bad move was Kate Blanchettes character.. its the main 'bad guy/girl' and its quite possibly the worst attempt at a bad guy you'l ever see on screen.
Ok so its not 'Meet the Spartans' bad.. but its just a little dissapointing considering how long they had to plan this thing.
